Our Team Coaches!

C.J. is one of the team directors.  He graduated from UA with two degrees, one in fitness management and the second in coaching pyschology. While in college he was a manager for the University of Alabama Women's Gymnastics team. 

CJ has been coaching since 1999 and has been here at Alabama Starz since 2015. He currenlty coaches vault and bars for the optional level groups. He has also coached many athletes to regional and national competitions. 

Coach MG is one of the team directors. She graduated from Auburn University with a degree in Nutrition and Dietetics; she went on to UAB to complete her Dietetic Internship to become a Registered Dietitian.  She currently coaches Level 4 and Xcel Gold, along with Beam and Floor for the Optional Groups.

She has been coaching team since 2007 and has been at Alabama Starz since 2012. 

Coach Fred is our Men's Team Director.  He has been coaching gymnastics since 1984.

He has a degree in early childhood development and has coached at Alabama Starz since 2002. He has had many athletes go on to Regional and National competitions and then on to college gymnastics.

Coach Abbie is a former Alabama Star and is one of our compulsory head coaches and has worked with all levels of gymnastics up through optional levels..  She has been coaching at Alabama Starz since 2015. She has coached many state champions in her time here with us.

Coach Mariel is one of our compulsory and xcel coaches. She is entering her 9th year coaching. She graduated from UA with a Bachelor's in Kinesiology with an emphasis in coaching, disability sport, and health and wellness promotion.

Coach Abby is a former Alabama Star! She coaches our level 2, level 3 and xcel silver groups. She has been coaching team since 2021.

Coach MB is one of our compulsory head coaches!  She also coaches our "Baby Starz" group.  She has been coaching since 2016 and has been with us since 2022.

Coach Josh is one of our boys compulsory head coaches.  He also coaches our boys future stars group and girls compulsory groups.  He has been coaching since May 2018 and has been with us since 2022.
